Birds of Affection
Love birds is the popular name for Agapornis Parrots. There are nine species of these parrots in total and they are all small and very colorful with enough of brilliant green feathers! These birds earned their proper noun "love bird" considering they are incredibly social and appreciating.
Lovebirds are native to the forests and savannas of Sub-Saharan Africa and Madagascar but can be found elsewhere at present.
It is not uncommon for breeding pairs of lovebirds to feed each other after a long separation or stressful period. This feeding technique is reminiscent of the amore we experience for our partners, hence the name of the parrots.
The lovebird lives in holes in trees, rocks, and shrubs in the wild. Nests of some species are built in groups, whereas those of others are built by paired individuals away from the flock. The can apply anything from a tree to a crevice in a building in urban settings.
