Plastic Fantastic. Cute Images. Affordable AF | Cons: | Plastic. Noisy. Light build. | Sharpness: 9 Bokeh: 9 Handling: vii Value: 10 | | This lens is awesome. Yes, information technology feels cheap, is noisy, and the AF hunts sometimes. Only it is affordable, the optics are cracking, and can deliver the images from light and fairly compact lens. 100mm is also useful for just general walk-around shooting where the AF works well. Yes information technology is F3.5 which means if you are outdoors with lots of light who cares and if not, then yous are probably on a tripod and the max aperture is irrelevant anyway. Annotation the existent images appear sharper than they exercise presented here: | | | | Veteran Member Registered: February, 2013 Location: Melbourne Posts: 2,536 | Lens Review Date: August 24, 2013 | I can recommend this lens: Yes | Toll: $125.00 | Rating:8 | Pros: | Sharp | Cons: | Hunts , big focus range ( space to Macro ), noisy , very plastic , ho-hum focus , | Sharpness: 9 Aberrations: seven Bokeh: 7 Handling: 7 Value: seven | | What can I say , the lens is very calorie-free weight , feels almost fragile . Its very noisy , has a long focus range ( space to macro ) and information technology takes a while to become from ane farthermost to the other .. Also the lens hunts a lot ( trying to focus ) , and small things tin be a piffling hard to lock onto . The lens is sensitive to texture , how can I explain , something like a flower that has unlike shapes that are close together notwithstanding apart in focal distance can actually claiming the lens equally it hunts dorsum and forth trying to lock the focus .. Now that can be a practiced affair as its looking for the best possible focus , or it tin be bad , as you may not have time for such things .. Now this could only be related to the photographic camera itself and not necessarily the fault of the lens ( possibly the combination ) . The lens does experience inexpensive , its very plastic , feels a fiddling like a one of those REVEL model airplane kits you glue together .. Now on the plus side , it does seem to take a decent picture for the toll paid , I dont call back I can mutter near the results . When it works , information technology works well , lets wait at some samples : I have rated the lens as an viii overall , but I rate the results almost a 8.5 to 9 ( actual images produced ) If this lens is all you can afford , then by all ways become for it , I dont know how much corruption this lens can take so I suggest care . I was hoping for a better AF , faster AF and a better lock into focus .. But information technology is a cheap AF Macro lens and expecting it to perform with lenses costing 2 to 4 times more than is probably asking a fleck much . The results are what count , and the lens takes a decent motion picture and is certainly a stride up from the budget zoom lenses with Macro or close focus adequacy such as the Sigma 28-fourscore Macro or Pentax kit lenses from 10 or and then years ago . I only merely got this lens , and Im non sure if Im keeping it , ill just wait till bound I think , and come across how information technology goes after a thousand or and then Macro pictures . Im not displeased with it , Im just spoiled for choice with quite a few Transmission Focus Macro options ... So the only question is , can this lens find a niche for itself in my growing lens collection ? | | |
